Christmas by Candlelight....

Morning Folks....bbbbrrrrr it's freezing here, so much for ''Summer''!!! Still determined not to switch the heating back on yet though, hopefully the last of the holidays will be lovely and hot, got 3 weeks left!! With the cold weather in thought, I've been busy trying out new techniques, had another go at decorating a candle, haven't done this for years, it took me a couple of go's to get the hang of it again lol!!!  I used the image ''Bells'' by Delightful Digi's. Here is my finished creation.....the table centre also created by myself...
Project
Products Used
Delightful Digi's - ''Bells'' Image
ProMarkers - Moss Green, Pear Green, Lime Zest, Mustard, Berry Red and Lipstick Red
Wink Of Stella Pen - Clear
Gelly Roll Pen - Metallic Silver
Papermania - Gold Brads
Ribbons and Gems from my stash

First of all I printed out the image onto tissue paper. To do this I wrapped the tissue paper around a piece of white card and held in place using low tac masking tape for support and to keep the paper in place. I then coloured in the image using various ProMarkers, listed above, and then carefully cut out. I placed the cut out image on to the centre of the candle then held this in place wrapping greaseproof paper around and using excess for gripping onto. I applied heat with my heat gun till the image changed to a wet look. This is when the image has applied to the wax. Carefully I unwrapped the greaseproof paper, image was set and then I decorated the candle by adding the ribbons, gems and brads. To finish off I created this table decoration to showcase my candle.....Well that's me all ready for Christmas...the very first time I'm ready months ahead!!! ...

Flutterby

Hiya  Folks, hope you are all well?!  I'm here this morning with a new creation. Last month I came Top three on the Indigo Blu Challenge and was so thrilled to be asked if I was able to do an inspirational piece for their new Flutterby Challenge! Well I couldn't say no ... so here is what I created ... A little upcycled heart box.  I altered the box with the focal point being ''Big Butterfly'' ... very apt for this challenge!! Here is the final result...
Project

 Products Used
Indigo Blu - ''Big Butterfly'', ''Crackleglaze'' and ''Honeycomb'' stamps and White Gee Sso
Docrafts - ''Pearl Blush'' acrylic paint
Tim Holtz - ''Rusty Hinge'' distress ink and ''Raspberry, Mountain Rose, Sunshine Yellow & Gold'' alcohol inks
Pinflair - ''Antique Silver'' buff-it
Versamark - Clear Ink
Stampendous - ''Aged Green'' and ''Aged Copper'' embossing enamel
Crafter's Companion - Heat resistant acetate
Britannia - Rose leaf die
Prima - Flower
Laura Ashley - Brads
Papermania - Flower border

First of all, I coated the box, inside and out, with the white Gee Sso. Once dry I painetd over using the acrylic paint. Whilst waiting for it to dry, I stamped the butterfly on to the acetate and embossed with the aged copper enamel. I carefully cut round about it. I then applied the various alcohol inks to cover the clear areas and put to one side. I then stamped over the lid using the crackleglaze stamp and rusty hinge ink. Then I stamped over parts of the lid using the honeycomb stamp and versamark ink, embossing with aged green enamel. I added hessian lace round the bottom of the box and Papermania flower border. To finish off I added the flower, brads, leaves and skeleton leaves to one corner and placed the finished butterfly to the other ... Ta da .. one finished altered heart box....hope this has inspired you to have a go!!

X-Cut - Scalloped Heart die
Crafty Notions - Sunshine gilding flakes
Kanban - Sentiment topper
Liquid Pearls - Ruby red

Close Ups

First of all I combined the 'Bear Hugs' image within the 'Heart Frame', duplicated 4 times then printed  onto watercolour card. I glued round the 'Heart Frame' and sentiment with a Quicky glue pen then gilded using Crafty Notions Sunshine flakes. I then coloured in the bears using Promarkers and LuminArte H2O's and decoupaged them and the same with the holly leaves too! Round the edges of the easel card I added the SticklesFrosted lace ... once dry I layered the framed bears heart on top. I die cut a heart shape using Delightful Digi's red poinsettia backing paper and X-Cut heart die and layered on to the base of the card. To finish off I added the sentiment and with more holly leaves cut out and coloured...
