Non Traditional Colours Optional Twist at Crafty Addicts

Good Morning Folks, hope you are all well and keeping wrapped up nice and warm in this cold weather?! Well, I've just finished my second dose of antibiotics for this chest infection, still no better unfortunately, going to give it a couple or so more days then if same, will be making another visit to my GP... oh the joys!!

Anyways on a brighter note, our new monthly challenge starts today over at The Crafty Addicts Challenge blog. The theme as always is 'Anything Goes' but you could try our twist of 'Non Traditional Colours'. From My Stash - Kraft Card & Gold Metalic Card

On an A5 Kraft card blank, I layered together, gold metalic card along with one of the gorgeous Dovecraft 'Time to Sparkle' papers. I just love these ones, such a change from the normal traditional colours. The image, I printed, coloured (using shades of gold), adding various glitter jewels for effect then layered on to the same gold and kraft card, placed as shown. To decorate, I added die cut holly leaves and snowflakes, pearl gems, paper flower with brad too. Finishing off with die cut sentiment.

Christmas at The Crafty Addicts Challenge

Good Morning Folks, a new monthly challenge has started over at The Crafty Addicts, as always the theme is 'Anything Goes' or we have a twist of 'Christmas'. Our fab sponsor this month is Knitty Kitty Digis. For my DT inspiration with the Christmas twist, I am using both 'Snowball Percy' and 'Snowball Pablo' from Build a Snow Scene Trio No.52, to create this fun scene... Here is my final project ... what do you think?

Ranger - Candy Cane Stickles and Spiced Marmalade Distress Stickles

On a 7x7 card, I layered Dear Santa paper with gold metalic card. I added smaller paper with gold card and angled. On this I placed doily with image topper. For the image I printed onto white card, coloured with Promarkers then added Pinflair Ice Diamond and Snow Dust for effect. To decorate I added red paper blossoms along with die cut glitter card flowers and leaves, brads and gold card leaves, finishing off with sentiment topper, berry embellishments and pearl gems.

Happy Halloween

Hi there Folks, can't believe that it's that time again for Halloween ... not sure on how many we'll get at the door this year, as having moved house. It's great when all the little ones get dressed up, but some of the older ones don't but still want goody bags!! Anyways, with Halloween in mind, I'm here to share with you this little spooky fun door hanger that I created ...

Little B - Halloween dies (Spider and Ghost)

From My Stash - Mountboard door hanger, Orange glitter card, Black glitter paper,  'Boo' embellishment, Halloween ribbon and Spider Web netting

To create this, I covered the front of hanger with green glitter card and added a layer of web netting. On top of handle, I added ribbon bow with die cut spider. For the main part, I die cut sugar skull, layering onto black glitter paper, added flowers and leaves, placing as shown. For the sentiment, I downloaded this freebie from Trimcraft Craft blog ... printed and added to bottom of hanger, addding die cut ghost, 'Boo' embellishment (which is for sticking in cakes) and finishing off adding die cut spiders, flowers and gems.

Special Birthday

Hi there folks, hope you have all had a lovely weekend and ready to start another new week, can't believe we are nearly into November, where has the year gone?... Well I am now ready to share with you this vintage style card I made for my friends special birthday...I am so loving Trimcraft products, they are fab and brilliant value for money!!! They also help create fantastic projects, that's why I so look foward to their new releases!! ....... Here's my card....

First Edition - 'Foliage' and 'Flower' dies
WOW - Metallic Gold Rich Ultra High embossing powder

From My Stash - Lace ribbon, Chipboard numbers and Kraft card

Taking a blank 7x7 card, I punched corners, then layered with Dovecraft papers and adding lace border trim. I die cut various leaves out of Kraft card and for added effect, I embossed the tips with WOW gold embossing powder. The flower was die cut and held together with contrasting brad. To finish off, I added the numbers, after using same embossing powder, then gems and paper flowers.

Desk Calendar

Hiya, another post from me, since I can't sleep, I've a hot milky drink in one hand and typing this up with the other! Here is an easy to make little desk calender I created...

From my stash - Green satin card, White satin card and Lace ribbon

First of all I took an A4 white satin sheet of card from my stash and scored as shown here on my Hougie board, then folded to create DL shape ...



I layered together pink bazzil card with gorgeous Laura Ashley paper, adding lace ribbon border then attached to card. The calendar I placed on green card and placed as shown. I then added flower embellishments that I made from die cut pink bazzil, green and glitter card, with brads and gems to finish.

Hope you like this fab simple idea, it's so easy to create and such a great gift! Why not have a go yourself! Now I think it's time for me to get some shut eye....zzzzzz

Stationery/Desk Tidy

Hiya Folks

Decided to have a go at creating another stationery/desk tidy...what do you think? Here it is....

From my stash - Lace and satin ribbons, cereal box

To make this I cut cereal box one piece bigger than the other. Covered with the gorgeous coordinating papers from Trimcraft First Edition 'Storyteller' paper pack and glued together, then decorated with ribbon, lace and flowers. For the flowers and leaves, I created using FE dies and matching papers, adding brads to finish....a sweet and handy stationary/desk tidy for all your needs!!

Quick Cards Issue 167 - Sketch Challenge Reader DT

Back again, this time with a card I made a few months ago whilst being on Quick Cards Reader DT for their Sketch Challenge in Issue 167. Here is my take on the sketch....

I created this on a 7x7 card blank, shaping corners and using a combination of Dovecraft papers along with Creata mirror card. Instead of circles I decided to use flowers to spill out of envelope with added floating die cut butterflies. Finishing off with lace border and die cut sentiment.

Son's New Home Card

A little update to say I'm still in the land of the living...just....lol....We're in the middle of packing everything for our move to new place down the road in a couple of weeks, been very busy organising everything as well as tripping over boxes!!. Happy Valentine's Day (Love Red over at Julia Spiri Challenge)

 'Happy Valentine's Day' to all my Crafty Friends, Blogging Buddies and Followers..Hope you are all having a lovely day and got loads planned ... So with that in mind here is my little DT inspirational card that I had made for Julia Spiri Challenge , that started last week. Unfortunately never had it photographed on time, but thought I'd post now as it's very apt for today don't you think?

X-Cut - Scalloped Heart and Heart Dies
Tonic - Flower Punches
Ranger - Stickles Glitter Glue
From My Stash, Red Rose Flower, Brads, Gems, Lace Ribbon, Satin Ribbon and Sentiment Toppers.

Made up two sizes of flowers with a mix of gems and stickles glitter glue, then arranged on card, along with lace ribbon around edges. For the image, I printed, coloured and carefully cut out, placing as shown. On base I matt and layered die cut heart papers. To finish off, I added a couple of more made up flowers with brads, one paper rose, satin ribbon bow and sentiment toppers.

'I'm Watching You' New Release at Julia Spiri

On a 8x8 white card blank, I matt and layered black card with cream card and green patterned paper. I also matt and layered a smaller topper (width wise) with the same black, cream card and complementing green paper, adding ribbon border and die cut border, as shown. For the image topper, I printed, coloured and layered on to black patterned silk card. To finish and decorate, I added ornate corner die cut, flowers with fancy flourishes, ribbon bow and gems.

Crafty Catz - Twist of Male Cards

Good morning Folks, how are you all today, hope you have had a good week and looking forward to the weekend!? The backing paper I made up, is a collage of different postcard images, that I found on the internet, along with the stamps, free passport clipart and photos in the negatives. The negative was a PNG that I found on the internet too!

Taking an 8x8 card blank, I matt and layered my backing paper on to brown satin card. I printed the stamps, negatives and passport clipart on to matt photo paper, cut out and arranged as shown using paper clips, finishing off by adding the image that I printed, coloured and carefully cut out. Hope you like it?

Add a Sentiment Twist at Crafty Addicts

Good morning Crafty Friends, Blogging Buddies and Followers, it's time again for a new monthly challenge over at Crafty Addicts. As always the theme is 'Anything Goes' but we have a twist and this month it's 'Add a sentiment'.  The sentiment image is a free download from the internet. 

On a 7x7 white card blank, I matt and layered Bazzil card, Gold card along with a 'sunburst' design of Trimcraft different backing papers. I added gold peel-offs to define the suns rays. The sun of which is the flower, I made up using die cut 'Daisies' and various flowers held together with a brad. The image I printed, coloured and carefully cut out and placed as shown. To finsh off and decorate, I added the die cut suitcase and pam trees along with pearls and gems. The sentiment I found on the internet, printed then layered on to gold card.
