Hunkydory Review

Hiya,

Recently I was very honoured to be asked to write a blog review for Hunkydory. 

The items I am reviewing here are:-

Distress Oxide Ink Pads

This is the first time I have used distress oxide inks, and I must say that I have been converted. I already love the original distress inks and have loads in my stash, but these certainly have changed the game in crafting! 

They come in the same size of 3x3", the difference being they are grey, so you don't confuse them, and of course you can still enjoy all the same benefits as with the original inks, using them with stamps, stencils or even apply directly on to any surface you use but with more versatility and fantastic coverage!! 

The quality and feel of the raised felt pad makes them easy to use and work perfectly on all types of card, but with them being more opaque than translucent like the distress inks, adding a spritz of water makes the colours 'pop' especially on dark card. You can layer and build up colour more by wetting then drying, making the colours turn out gorgeous. They dry with a chalky sort of look and feel. Brilliant for all sorts of projects, especially mixed media. I thoroughly enjoyed getting messy playing with these. A great price too £6.99, so I will definitely be adding more of these to my crafty stash!!

Two high quality 10 x 5.3cm swirling oak leaf, decorative branch & delicate flourish mirrored dies, that are a fab addition to Sue Wilson's Finishing Touches collection and greatly priced at £13.99. As normal, they are hard wearing with stunning intricate details that cut perfectly and can be used in most standard embossing & die cutting machines. 

They work together beautifully by using them with other dies and stamps in the collection or on their own to create simple but effective decorative elements for all sorts of crafting - be it card making or even cake making! 

The dies can also be used alongside other companies' products to add more versitilty too. Dies are not only for die cutting, as they can be used in various different ways. One of my favourites is by cutting out on heavy cardstock and using as a stencil, as I have done here in my project. Adding also as a decorative die cut element along with other die cut elements from the Finishing Touches collection.

Happy New Year...

Hi there folks,

Sorry I've not been about recently, I've been quite poorly. Came down with the flu at Christmas, followed by a chest infection, conjunctivitis and needless to say had a bad 'fibro' flare up too! Two loads of antibiotics plus my usual meds...It's the worst I've been...Could have had a better start to the new year!!

Still not great but getting there thankfully... Roll on the better weather!

I hope that you all had a wonderful time over the festive season and that 2019 brings you health, wealth and happiness!!!

I'm looking forwards to get back into my crafting again, been sorely missed!!

Snowman Hugs

Hiya, well that's Christmas over, hope you have all had a good one and were spoiled rotten!! I've had a great one this year as we were able to spend it with our family and more importantly our first little grandchild 'Olivia'... The best early Christmas present by far!!

We have now moved in to our new place, still have a few outstanding things to be done and fixed though, but will have to wait till next year!!

Now on to sharing some inspiration. It's my turn today to share for Digi Doodle Studios. I'm using this fab winter image called 'Snowman Hugs', you can find it here.

On a 7x7 blank card, I matt and layered purple non-shed glitter card and patterned paper, with ribbon border. The image, I printed on to watercolour card, coloured with Promarkers, added various loose glitter for depth and effect, then die cut out, layering on die cut glitter card. Decorating with die cut vellum poinsettia flowers, die cut berry sprigs and twigs. Finishing off with gems, glitter glue...
