My first Go at using Air Dry Clay!! ...

Hiya, how are you all, hope you have had a lovely weekend and been busy crafting!! Well I have been busy, I have had a go at using air dry clay....I've not used this before, the only modelling clay I have used is plasticine in my childhood days!! Lol ...Anyways I have had a go and being a bit adventurous I thought I would make a trinket dish. Here is the list of products I used:-

Fimo Air Dry Clay
Indigo Blu Stamps and Gee-Sso
Luninarte Shimmer Paints
Fimo Gloss Varnish

My Finished Bowl

First I kneaded some clay, then rolled out using a rolling pin, roughly 16cm circumference. Once I was happy, I stamped the Indigo Blu flowers and leaf stamp over one half. I then used a bowl I had to cut out .... You can also use Versamark or any clear ink pad on your stamps before stamping for more clarity!!

To shape the bowl, I placed the clay into a bowl I had, which was roughly the same size and left to dry for a couple of days ...

Once dry, I smoothed out round the edge ...

I painted all over with Gee-Sso ...

Once dry I painted, the flowers and leaves with Luminarte shimmer paints Moss Green, Sea Glass, Cherry Sorbet, Razzleberry, Sunflower & Icy Iris ...

I left this to dry overnight, then gave it a coating of Fimo gloss varnish to finish and voila, one trinket dish!!

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by, I really do appreciate your time and lovely comments!!
Hope to see you back soon

Shades of Green.....

Hiya, hope you have all had a lovely bank holiday weekend! Just a regular one for me, doing my usual rounds of shopping especially buying more craft stash!! Ahhh bliss!! Anyhoo, I have another little post today of a little creation I made. A little jewellery hanger...here is the finished result ...
Sample
Products Used
Indigo Blu Ink Splat Butterfly (Limor Webber) stamp
Versamark
Stampendous clear embossing powder
6x6 Greyboard
Cinch binding wires
Bazzil Bling card
Creata backing paper and satin mirror card
Glitter card
Joycraft flourish die
Crochet lace
Ribbon
Hobbycraft paper flowers
Gems, pearls and heart 'love' charm

First I covered the 6x6 greyboard with the glitter card, then added the backing paper. I then punched the holes in the bottom and top using my Cinch binding machine and put to one side. I took a piece of satin mirror card and stamped the Indigo Blu Ink splat butterfly onto the card using versamark then embossing with clear powder, making sure that I didn't finger the card as it can mark very easily! You can also use an anti static bag over it before stamping if you wish. This technique produces a lovely shiny effect where you have stamped and can only be done on satin mirror card with clear ink and clear embossing powder. Something different from the norm! Give it a try, you'll love it!
I added this topper to the Bazzil Bling card and then added on to the base. then I added the binding wires, with heavy duty clear tape and covered the top of the wires with the lace and ribbon. Finishing off with the flowers, gems, pearls, charm and ribbon for hanging. I then positioned the wires to be able to hang jewellery...

First I used the two backing papers as my base, adding the cotton lace ribbon and made a complimentary bow. I worked out where I was going to place the 'Summer Lovin' topper and marked lightly with pencil, so I could then stamp and emboss using the 'Flourish Dinkie'  and Gold Detail powder, adding the main topper then finishing off with the butterfly topper, flowers, embelishments, pearls, gems and Hello! sentiment...

More Craft Storage - Upcycled Plant Pot

Back again with another little craft storage idea....this time I needed somewhere for my paintbrushes etc. So I upcycled this little terracotta pot...
Finished Pot

I used the following products:-
Indigo Blu Gee-Soo Good! White Gesso, Artists Acrylic Paint Aladin, Flitter Glu
Royal Peacock Gilding Flakes and Butterfly Stamp.
VersaMark
Cosmic Shimmer Embossing Powder Tropic Pearl
Gems and Pearls

Plain Pot

First I painted it with the Gee-soo on the outside and inside rim, then left to dry..

Once dry I painted it with the Aladin paint and left to dry...

After this was dry I added the gilding flakes to the rim insde and out using flitter glu, adding the gems and pearls next. I then carefully stamped the butterfly on to the front using VersaMark and Tropic Pearl embossing powder..making sure the pot did not overheat, wasn't wanting the pot to crack!! I applied the heat a bit at a time.....

Voila...one new little storage pot!!

My little Gems Organiser

Hiya Folks, how are you all today? It's been a mixed day here, but really cold, just wish the hot weather will appear!! Anyways, I've been keeping my busy with a few projects, this one I have made before for my stamps but needed to make another as you can't have too much storage!! Another handy little organiser to keep all my favourite gems and pearls that I use most often. Here is the finished result:-

Finished Organiser

The products I used for this is:-
Indigo Blu Flights of Fancy 6x6 Card in purple and brown
Indigo Blu Free stamp set from Simply Cards & Papercraft Magazine
Indigo Blu Winter Dawn Gilding Flakes
Greyboard
Cinch Binding Wires
8 12x12 sheets of paper
Purple Glitter Letters
Little Birdie Boutique Elements Flowers
Ribbons and of course gems!
I first of all cut 2 pieces of greyboard measuring 6x6.These will be the covers. I used double sided tape and placed this round the edges of the boards, then applied the gilding flakes. Adding the lovely Indigo Blu card with my favourite colours and with butterflies too! I then used my Cinch to punch the holes for the binding wires.

Next I took my 12x12 papers and folded them to make pockets, like this...
12x12 Paper

Fold in Half

Then again

Finally fold into a quarter

Once folded I punched in the holes again using my Cinch to match up with the covers...I then stamped and embossed on the front of each pocket...using the Indigo blu stamps, VersaMark, Gold Detail embossing powder for the grass stamp and Cosmic Shimmer Tropic Yellow for the dragonfly stamp...

Finishing off I added the 'Gems' letters, flowers and gems to the front cover. I put together the pages and back cover adding the binding wires then lastly the ribbons...All that was left to do was add my gems!!

Black and Gold....Using Indigo Blu Giant Peony..

Morning Folks, Can't believe it's Saturday again, where are the weeks going?!! Hope you all have a lovely weekend whatever you are up to!!

I'm here this morning with another creation. I fell in love with Indigo Blu's new Giant Peony stamp, I couldn't resist it and needed to have a play...it reminded me of a card I made a few years ago, using A4 gold metal sheet and decided to have another go.... here is the finished result...

Sample

I started off by using a plain black base card. I stamped and embossed the corners and middle section with Indigo Blu Dinkie Vintage Flourish, VersaMark and Stampendous clear deep impression embossing powder.

I then stamped the Giant Peony onto gold metal sheet 4 times (4th a spare!!) with Archival Black ink and heat dried it.

Once dry I cut out the 3 best in decoupage style. Then I embossed over all the stamped lines to add dimension.

I put together the peony layers, then layered gold metalic card on to black glossy card and positioned on to the base card, adding the gold peony to finish.

The inks I used were Color Box in the shades of pink, marigold, robin's egg and black for the flowers and Versa Color in the shades of lime and fresh green for the leaves. Repeating the verse with Color Box black. To finish off, I sprayed a little Crafter's Companion Spray and Sparkle in Iridescent to add a touch of 'bling'!! Here is the finished card :-
