Working with Past Images at Julia Spiri New Release Team

Good morning Crafty Friends, how are you all and have you been having a good week so far? Well my week was good up until late Tuesday night when I had a wee accident with my 'pokey tool' and puntured my finger through and through! Ouch .. ended up at A&E, to get it checked yesterday morning and had to have another 'jab', a top up of tetanus! I must say my finger is sore and bruised with two little punture marks, but my arm after the jab, is agony! I definitely wont be doing that again in a hurry!
I'm here today as it's the turn of the New Release team at Julia Spiri, though this week we have no new images, but don't worry, we have been creating with past images and I chose to work with The Birds and Hair, from the 'Fantasy Hair' Collection, isn't she fab?! 'Garden' with Julia Spiri Challenge

Good morning Crafty Friends, who's up for a new challenge? Well we have a new challenge that has started over at Julia Spiri Challenge, and as always the theme is 'Anything Goes',  but we do have twists too and this fortnight it is anything 'Garden' related, for example adding trees, flowers etc. For my inspiration, this fortnight, I decided to do something a little different and upcycled this little wooden flower shaped holder that I had, whilst incorporating the gorgeous image The Flower Girl. Please follow the links at the bottom of the page, for more wonderful images and challenge details etc!! And so here is what I created:-
My Project
Products Used
Julia Spiri - 'The Flower Girl' image
Promarkers - Almond, Blush, Sandstone, Tan, Pale Pink, Blossom, Baby Pink, Antique Pink, Tea Green, Pastel Blue, Powder Blue, Meadow Green and Pear Green
Crafter's Companion - Watercolour card
Creata - Green silky card and Purple and White flower backing card
Docrafts - Artiste Iris acrylic paint, X-Cut Family Tree die and Purple fabric flowers

Imagination Crafts - Sparkle Medium Welsh Gold
Woodware - Pink paper flowers
Petaloo - Velvet butterfly

First of all, I coated the holder, inside and out, with the Iris acrylic paint. Once dry I painted over the front side using the Gold Lime shimmer paint, then after this, I coated with some Welsh Gold sparkle medium. The image I printed, coloured and carefully cut out. I die cut the tree using brown mulberry paper, which has the look of bark! Then cut the tree leaves and flowers and gluing all together. I attached the tree to the inside of the holder, then finished off by attaching the image, flowers, die cut rose leaves, butterfly, bee, ladybird, brads and gems... A fitting holder for my watercolour pencils!!
