Mythical/Magical - Nixie Mermaid

Hiya, crafty friends...how are you all today? Everything fine here, thankfully our dreadful weather has passed over and we now have a lovely sunny day for a change! As it's my turn, I'm here to share with you my little bit of DT inspiration for Digi Doodle Studios, I have kept to our challenge theme of 'Mythical/Magical' and have used this super little image called Nixie Mermaid, isn't she so cute?!!


To create this, I took a 7x7 scalloped card blank and layered together turquoise mirror card and green wave patterned paper along with a piece of illusion 'waves' film, for added depth and movement. The image, I printed, coloured with promarkers, added glitter glue/pearl drops, then carefully cut out and placed as shown on a piece of plastic netting. I decorated with die cut flowers, made from iridescent paper, vellum and glitter paper, shells, starfish and seahorse. Finishing off with added pearls.

Trimcraft - First Edition 8x8 'Beyond the Shore' paper
Creata - Turquoise Mirror card
J.J.D Crafts - Illusion Film 'Waves'
Dawn Bibby Creations - Fantasy Fusilier and Fern dies and Blossom Stamen dies
Joycraft - Seahorse, Starfish and Shell dies
Sweet Dixie - Shell die
Ranger - Ice Stickles Strawberry and Mint Ice glitter glue, Pearl Drops White Opal
My Stash - Glitter paper, Plastic netting and Pearl gems

    There are so many things I live about this card....not sure where to start! The colors, first. And the wavy film paper....it adds just the right amount of dimension. This sweet image is colored beautifully. And the rest of the embellishments....spectacular! I'm so happy you shared this with our "add texture" challenge this week at Tuesday Throwdown! Thank you!
